Two more Indian students are selected as Indian ambassador at the University
Ambassadors will provide counselling about studying in UK and at the University
Vinayak Das, an Assamese student at the University of Liverpool is selected as an Indian ambassador of students. Das, a resident of Guwahati is an MSc student in Human Resource Management at the Liverpool University. Being an ambassador he will be responsible for offering support, advice and counselling to the Indian students willing to study in UK and at the university in particular. Along with Das two more Indian students are appointed as ambassadors.
Apart from helping students in getting admission in the University of Liverpool, Vinayak will also help the Indian students in becoming acquainted with life and education in UK by understanding their lifestyle, opportunities and prospects in the country. All these three Indian student ambassadors will work in a team of 25 international student ambassadors, who represent their university across the globe. Vinayak with other two Indian ambassadors started his academic pursuits in September 2011 and will work as ambassador for the next one year.
Vinayak Das will work with the international recruitment and relations team of the University of Liverpool and will provide assistance to Indian students regarding various issues like degree programmes offered by the University, counselling, receiving students at airports and giving campus tour to guardians and parents of students visiting the university.
Das said that, choosing a good university is a difficult task when you live far from the campus and don't know the country very well. Our job as student ambassadors is to use our experience of studying abroad for the benefit of students in India who have questions about what to study and how to adjust to a new country and culture. Liverpool is a fantastic multicultural student city with a history of great sport and music. I am really pleased to be able to represent the university in India.
